A copy of the graduation certificate.

A copy of your academic transcript or transcript.

Study and research plan (for postgraduate studies only).

Abstract of the master’s thesis (for PhD applicants only).

Recommendation letters (any other forms are accepted).

Medical certificate (it is not required to do a medical examination in a government hospital, but any accredited doctor, hospital, governmental or private clinic can conduct a medical examination, complete the form and stamp it with the seal of the doctor or hospital).

A nomination form for the universities you wish to study at (this form is only required for those who wish to choose specific universities in Japan to enroll in).


Application conditions

The applicant should not have any mental or physical disability that prevents him from studying in Japan and should be in good health

The age should not be more than 34 years on the second of April in the year of the announcement of the grant (for masters and doctoral degrees) and the age of the applicant should not be more than 24 years, and not less than 16 years old on the second of April of the year of the announcement of the grant (for bachelors).

Knowledge of Japanese language and IELTS / TOEFL is not mandatory, however, the applicant must be willing to learn Japanese and complete his studies in Japanese as well as interest in Japanese culture

It is preferable that the grade of the last university degree, whether a bachelor’s degree, a bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate diploma, be not less than 75%, or a cumulative GPA of 3 out of 4 for applicants for a master’s or doctoral degree, and it is preferred that the overall grade of the high school result is 95% or above for applicants for a bachelor’s degree.
